Hi, I’m Lauren Perchard-Rees

I have been a registered Healthcare Professional for 20 years. My specialties are cancer (oncology), holistic (whole person) care, and Lifestyle Medicine for both the prevention and management of chronic health conditions.

I know how confusing health advice can be and how difficult it can be to take back control and make the changes necessary to feel better today and for your future.

My values place priority on connection (to family, friends and community), compassion (to ourselves and our planet), and consistency (it takes building new habits slowly to get to the point we are living a healthy and sustainable lifestyle).

The advice and support I provide will be based on scientific evidence, whilst listening to where you are and tailoring the advice and support to where you want to be.

My passions in life are my family, endurance cycling, sea swimming, cooking, and seeing the magic in every day situations and interactions.

My Approach

A HOLISTIC LIFESTYLE MEDICINE CONSULTATION

It starts with a 15 minute free discussion, it helps me to listen and understand what you want to achieve, and for you to check you want to work with me.

Before your first consultation I will ask you to complete some questionnaires and may request any medical history/data you have.

During the consultation I will build a full picture of where you are, where you want to go, and the best steps to get there in a sustainable way.

At the end of the session/or shortly after you will be sent/presented with your personal Lifestyle Medicine Prescription with resources and an action plan.

Lifestyle Medicine takes into account all the factors that you have control of that contribute to your health and the root cause of many physical and mental symptoms. I use the scientific evidence base that is constantly growing in this field, alongside my experience as a holistic health professional, to work with you to create health and life goals that will lead you to feeling better and getting more out of life!

Lifestyle Medicine has a place whether you are trying to reduce your risk of future illness or you are looking to reduce symptoms/improve quality of life whilst living with a chronic or serious health condition. The best time to start is in your early to mid adult life (or earlier with your own families), although it is never too late to start and feel the positive difference following the right lifestyle can have. The approaches used are relevant and tailored for all sorts of conditions from high cholesterol, poor sleep, migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, cancer, dementia, weight problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, hormone health… the list goes on and on.

TIME TO REFLECT, REFRAME AND RELAX

Chronic stress is related to many health conditions, and it is estimated that as much as 80% of visits to the GP are due to the impact of chronic stress on the mind and body.

At the end of your consultation you have the option to add on a NADA ear acupuncture treatment with the aim of inducing relaxation, improving mental health and sleep issues, reducing cravings for harmful substances, and reducing hot flushes and night sweats in women or men going through normal or medically induced hormonal changes.

This quiet time will also help you to envisage life with the changes you are going to make.
